RNSH is the home of the NSW Statewide Burns Referral Service as well as receiving admissions via the Emergency Department and Trauma Service. The Severe Burn Unit (SBU) is located on the 6th floor of the Clinical Services Building (CSB) which includes in- and out-patient facilities, a dedicated operating theatre, and recovery room. These complex patients are managed collaboratively with the Burns and Plastics team, the Intensive Care Unit, and the Acute and Transitional Pain Service, alongside subspecialty nursing and anaesthetic staff.
